About Fiadh
Fiadh (pronounced FEE-ah) is the Gaelic of these glens — the word for the red deer of the Highlands, and for the wild itself. Here the two are one and the same: the deer is the wild made flesh, at home where the road runs out. We chose it because it is exactly what we build for.
Fiadh Adventure Vehicles is a specialist leisure vehicle workshop in Callander, in the heart of the Trossachs. Whatever stage your vehicle is at, we have the expertise to take it further — tracing a stubborn electrical fault, upgrading a system that has never quite worked properly, or designing and building a brand-new adventure vehicle from the ground up, bespoke to any specification you bring us. Diagnose, repair, upgrade or build: it is the same team, the same standard, at every stage.
Two Workshops, One Company
Fiadh brings together Rolyan Designs and Keltie Campers. Rolyan built its name on handcrafted, fully bespoke conversions — the craft, the joinery, the eye for a van that feels made rather than assembled. Keltie built its name on campervan electrical engineering and Victron off-grid systems — power that genuinely works away from hook-up, tested across Scotland and beyond.
Most converters are strong on one side and buy in the other. We do both ourselves, on every project.
Off-Grid Electrical Specialists
The electrical side of Fiadh is where Keltie Campers’ years of specialist work continues. Lithium battery upgrades, Victron system design and installation, solar, DC-DC charging, inverters, electrical diagnostics and fault finding, diesel heater installations, fridge upgrades, air conditioning, and full gasless conversions.
We are a Victron Energy Approved Installer — listed on the official Victron installer map. We are also a Thule Authorised Installer and hold STGW Gas Certification to NCC standards.
Many of our electrical customers are serious long-distance tourers — Scottish-based owners who spend weeks or months touring across Europe, Scandinavia, and North Africa. Their systems need to perform reliably in 40°C Saharan heat and -20°C Norwegian winters, far from any workshop. That’s the standard we build to.
Bespoke Adventure Vehicle Conversions
Our vans are built to a simple idea: luxury that does not flinch. A Fiadh van should be as comfortable parked up a single-track road in the far Highlands as it is on a serviced pitch — robust enough to go where you want, refined enough that you never feel you are roughing it. Built for the wild, on purpose.
We build gasless — cooking, heating and hot water run on electricity and diesel, with no LPG on board. It is cleaner and simpler, but the real reason is freedom of movement. There is no gas bottle to refill, refit or find the right adaptor for as you cross from France into Spain, head up through Scandinavia, or down into Morocco. Going gasless puts real demand on the electrical system, which is exactly why our off-grid engineering background matters — we size every build around the full load, so the van keeps working wherever it is.
Built in Callander, Made for Anywhere
We are rooted in the Trossachs, the gateway to the Highlands, but our work is not built for Scotland alone. Our electrical systems and conversions are made for the people who take their vehicles everywhere — the remote glens, the Scandinavian winter, the long road south. Same vehicle, same reliability, wherever the road runs out.
Come and See Us
The best way to understand what we do is to see it. Visits to the Callander workshop are by arrangement.
