Built for the Wild, on Purpose
A Fiadh van should be as comfortable parked up a single-track road in the far Highlands as it is on a serviced pitch — robust enough to go where you want, refined enough that you never feel you are roughing it. Our builds are designed for people who actually use their vehicles: extended European touring, Scandinavian winters, months in Morocco, full-time off-grid living.
We build gasless — cooking, heating and hot water run on electricity and diesel, with no LPG on board. It is cleaner and simpler, but the real reason is freedom of movement. No gas bottle to refill, refit or find the right adaptor for as you cross borders. Going gasless puts real demand on the electrical system, which is exactly why our off-grid engineering background matters — we size every build around the full load, so the van keeps working wherever it is.
Two Specialisms Under One Roof
Most converters are strong on the joinery and buy in the electrics, or vice versa. Fiadh brings together the bespoke conversion craft of Rolyan Designs and the specialist off-grid electrical engineering of Keltie Campers. We do both ourselves, on every project, to the same standard. The result is a vehicle where the cabinetry and the electrical system are designed together from the start — not one fitted around the other as an afterthought.
What Goes Into a Fiadh Build
Electrical System
Every Fiadh build starts with the electrical architecture. As a Victron Energy Approved Installer, we design complete off-grid systems built around Victron components — lithium batteries, solar, inverter/charger, DC-DC charging, and full system monitoring via VRM. The electrical system is sized for the full gasless load: induction cooking, diesel heating, hot water, refrigeration, lighting, and any other demands your lifestyle requires.
Interior Design & Build
Handcrafted interiors designed around how you live in the vehicle. Sleeping, cooking, washing, working, storage — every element is positioned and proportioned for your daily routine, not a generic template. Materials and finishes are chosen for durability on the road as well as comfort and aesthetics.
Heating & Hot Water
Diesel-powered heating and hot water — reliable in any climate, independent of gas supply, integrated with the electrical system so battery life is managed intelligently through cold nights.
Insulation & Climate
Proper insulation for year-round touring. A van built for Scottish winters and Saharan summers needs to manage condensation, heat loss, and heat gain effectively. We insulate for the conditions you will actually encounter, not just the easy ones.
The Build Process
Initial conversation — Tell us about your base vehicle (or we can help you choose one), how you plan to use it, where you travel, and what matters most to you. Every build starts here.
Design — We produce a detailed layout and specification based on your brief, including the full electrical system design. You see exactly what you are getting before any work begins.
Build — Your vehicle is built at our Callander workshop. The electrical system and the interior are constructed together, by the same team, under one roof.
Handover — Full walkthrough of every system, connection to VRM remote monitoring, and a documented wiring diagram. You leave knowing exactly how your vehicle works.
Build Slots
Build slots are currently booking into early 2027. We take a limited number of builds per year to maintain the standard of work — if you are planning a conversion, the earlier you start the conversation the better.

How much does a bespoke conversion cost?
Every build is different, so we quote individually based on the base vehicle, specification, and complexity. A full bespoke conversion is a significant investment — we will give you a detailed written quotation before any commitment, with no surprises.
Do I need to supply the base vehicle?
You can supply your own or we can advise on sourcing. We will tell you what works well for what you want to achieve, and what to avoid.
How long does a build take?
A full conversion typically takes several months depending on specification and complexity. We will give you a realistic timeline at the design stage.
Can I visit during the build?
Yes — workshop visits during the build are welcome by arrangement. Many customers visit at key stages to see progress and discuss any decisions.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes. All our work is warranted, and Victron components carry their own manufacturer warranties. We support every vehicle we build.
